Use cases

Bring one consequential situation.

Aurion does not sell a catalogue of workshops. Each engagement starts from a situation leadership can recognize: a decision that will not hold, an initiative that will not land, a build that may be aimed at the wrong constraint.

01

Strategic decision integrity

The decision was declared. It did not become binding.

Looks like

A strategic decision appears settled, then reopens when a valid downside surfaces. Execution moves into unresolved dependencies. Leadership reasserts the decision without changing the conditions that allowed it to reopen.

Investigates

Aurion investigates whether the organization has a standing mechanism that ranks competing constraints, records accepted trade-offs and makes the decision operative rather than merely announced.

Can resolve

A testable account of why the decision fails to hold, what must become true first and what evidence would show the decision has become binding.

02

Stalled strategic initiatives

The initiative remains active but no longer has one operational meaning.

Looks like

A strategic initiative stays on the agenda. Teams work hard. Progress stalls. Each function can explain the stall differently. Priorities shift every few weeks without a standing ranking mechanism.

Investigates

Whether the initiative has a governing operational definition, which trade-offs it accepts, and what local optimizations regenerate misalignment.

Can resolve

A diagnosis of the structural gap between aspiration and ranked meaning, and the first intervention most likely to shift the system.

03

Build readiness

Before building the solution, test whether the problem is buildable.

Looks like

A transformation or software build is commissioned. Requirements remain unstable. Adoption risk is treated as a delivery issue. Scope conflict persists after multiple discovery rounds.

Investigates

Whether the proposed build addresses the actual constraint, or whether an upstream strategic, governance, authority or behavioral condition must be resolved first.

Can resolve

A BUILD, CONDITIONAL BUILD or NO BUILD verdict with reasoning, required preconditions and evidence scope.

04

Recurring cross-functional friction

Every department can explain why another department is blocking progress.

Looks like

Cross-functional friction returns under different names. Coordination meetings multiply. Blame circulates. The same collision reappears after temporary resolution.

Investigates

What contradiction the friction preserves, which constraints each side protects and whether the recurring pattern performs a function the organization has not named.

Can resolve

A structural explanation of the regenerating mechanism and an intervention aimed at the contradiction rather than the latest interpersonal flare.

05

Leadership and governance

Formal authority and actual organizational behavior diverge.

Looks like

Governance structures exist on paper. Decisions still route through informal authority. Boards or leadership teams receive reports that do not match operative reality. Succession or role changes reopen unresolved authority questions.

Investigates

Where declared governance and operative decision paths diverge, which constraints remain unranked and what the informal system preserves.

Can resolve

A challengeable model of how authority actually operates, what must change first and how leadership can sense whether governance became operative.

06

Failed intervention review

Previous interventions created activity without resolution.

Looks like

The organization has already tried process, tooling, coaching or reorganization. The original problem returns under a new name. Leadership needs to understand why before committing again.

Investigates

What each prior intervention addressed, what it left intact and which regenerating mechanism continued beneath the activity.

Can resolve

A structural account of why previous interventions did not land, and what must change first if another attempt is warranted.

07

Transformation readiness

A transformation may be addressing the wrong issue.

Looks like

A transformation program is underway or proposed. Sponsors describe a future state. Middle layers carry incompatible constraints. Progress metrics improve while operative behavior does not.

Investigates

Whether the transformation targets the actual constraint, which declared and operative realities diverge and what would have to become true before the program can land.

Can resolve

A readiness diagnosis: what is structurally blocking the intended shift, what must change first and how to sense whether the system actually moved.
